Allow User Registration on Your WordPress Site. we are running a WordPress website and if we want to people user register or create their own profiles on your website. WordPress allows you to enable user registration. You can enable user registration in WordPress to allow users to add posts, or comment, or perform other actions on your website. we will show you how to allow user registration on your WordPress site and how to manage users.

How to Enabling User Registration in WordPress

WordPress comes with By default functionality to manage user registrations. By default its comes off But we need to click on checkbox for enable.

Steps 1 : Login to admin section

Steps 2 : Go to wordpress Settings » General page in your WordPress admin area.

Steps 3 : Scroll down to the ‘Membership’ section and check the box next to ‘Anyone can register’ option.

Steps 4 : Select user default role

When a user self-registers, WordPress can assign a default role to the new user.

user role in wordpress  :

Administrator – Administrator access to all the administration features
Editor – Editor can publish and manage posts and pages as well as manage other users’ posts, etc.
Author – Author can publish and manage their own posts
Contributor – Contributor can write and manage their posts but not publish them
Subscriber – Subscriber can only manage their profile

By default, people that register are given Subscriber permissions.

Adding Login and Register Links in WordPress

Once your site is ready for registration we need to provide registration/login links to our users so they can register and login on your site. you can customize your wordpress theme

we can show login and register link by two methods :

Method 1: The Meta Widget

WordPress provide its own meta widget. This is the simplest way to add a registration/login link in a sidebar. To achieve this Simply go to Appearance » Widgets and add the Meta widget to a sidebar.

Method 2: Using Custom Login Pages

we can use any plugin for login and register page. many plugins the custom forms for registration.
